Westbrook Hunt Club
Summer Shoreline Series

A few riders from Narnia Farm traveled to Westbrook, CT for the two Shoreline Series shows at the Westbrook Hunt Club. Anastasia Wittman and her pony Little Miss Fancy Pants won the Reserve Champion ribbons in both Short Stirrup Hunter and Equitation during Series I. Jessica Willis attended with her two horses pulling ribbons with Big Baby in the Hunters and Rainy Day in the Low Training Jumpers. Becky Faust and Made 'Ya Look received two gold rosettes in the Adult Jumpers in Series II also earning the 2nd place ribbon in the $1,500 NAL Classic after a fabulous round! Katie Strandberg and Custom Made brought home two Champion ribbons in the JR/AO Jumper division and also competed in the $3,000 Shoreline Jumper Classic in both shows - pinning 7th in Series I and 2nd in Series II! Festivities at this show included a bullfrog race - fun, fun, fun!!!

Ox Ridge Hunt Club

A small group of Narnia Farm's riders traveled to southern Connecticut for the annual Ox Ridge Charity Event. Here, Sherry Hyland Phillips and Shaq made their reappearance in the Jumper ring after taking a short, but well deserved, vacation! We are very excited to announce that Katie Strandberg and Custom Made made their Level 6 debut this week! Also the pair competed in the Jr/Am Jumper Division. Meghan Bell and Dutch By Design showed in both the Equitation and the Jumper rings. And, Alyson Powers and her mount, Wellington, competed in the Children's Hunters. Rounding out the group was Natalie D'Elia and On the Rocks competing in the Hunter ring. Congratulations to all our riders!

Windcrest & Mystic

May 24th & 25th


Narnia Farm kicked butt this weekend at Windcrest Farm and Mystic Valley!!!

Rachel Lyons and her new horse Talk of the Town began their show career at Windcrest Farm in the Pre-Children's Hunter division, taking home the Reserve Champion ribbon along with other top ribbons. The future looks very bright for this pair!!

Anastasia Wittman and her pony Little Miss Fancy Pants cleaned up at both shows with four Tri-Colors in Short Stirrup Equitation and Hunter! Great job! Tori Laires collected the Reserve Champion ribbon in Short Stirrup Equitation at Windcrest riding Narnia Farms' Marshmellow. Sharing a ride on Marshmellow was Kaitlyn Boggio, winning lots of top ribbons and qualifying for the CHJA Children's medal finals.

At Mystic Valley, our own Kathy O'Connor won Champion in the Long Stirrup Equitation division on her mount Killians Red. Way to go Kathy!! Also in attendance at the Mystic Valley show was Becky Faust and Made Ya Look competing in the Child/Adult Jumpers. This pair was Reserve Champion and placed first in the M & S Classic - you guys rock!!

Back at the barn

Narnia Farm is constantly maintaining and upgrading the facilities to insure that our riders and horses enjoy a true state-of-the art equestrian center. Recent additions include several new grass turnout paddocks, with even more on the way.

The warm weather has moved lessons outdoors as our show riders prepare for the upcoming show season and our new riders learn to love this sport!!

Narnia Farm riders Chelsea DesRoches and Becky Faust planned a surprise for their trainer, Mark Rarick, by dressing up for their lesson. Unshakable Mark's response: "I always knew they were a couple of clowns".

Narnia Farm
jumper riders Chelsea DesRoches and Becky Faust braved the cold and damp weather to make the trip two days in a row to the 1st Annual April Jumper Show at the Westbrook Hunt Club. The first show of the season for these two riders, their perseverance was rewarded by bringing home lots of top ribbons and Tri-colors.

Chelsea DesRoche and Mikki competed in the level 3 jumpers on Saturday receiving high ribbons. On Sunday, the pair showed in the High Child/Adult Jumper Classic pinning 5th over-all.



Becky Faust and Made Ya Look took home the Champion ribbons in both the Low Training and the Low Child/Adult Jumper Divisions, as well as pinning 3rd in the Low Child/Adult Jumper Classic on Sunday! Super Job!!

Narnia Farm attended AVSS's Jumper Show, the weather was beautiful and the show was a great way to begin to prepare for the upcoming season!

In attendance was Katie Strandberg aboard her horse, Custom Made. The pair pinned third in the Level 3s and received a first and second place in the Amatuer/Owner classes.

April has arrived, and brought the warm weather with it - at last! Narnia Farm is in full swing preparing horses and their riders to compete at the top of their game for our upcoming events.

Narnia Farm's Riding School

Additionally, up and coming rider Parker Wilcox is having a blast half-leasing Narnia Farm's Formal Affair. The duo have been very successful the past few weeks bringing home many Tri-Colors in the Pre-Children's Hunters and Equitation.

Mount Holyoke College Jumper Show

Mount Holyoke College Jumper Show

Three members of the intrepid Narnia Farm Show Team braved the cold and ventured out on February 17th to go to the Mount Holyoke College Jumper Show in South Hadley, MA.

Katie Strandberg with mount Custom Made won Champion in Division I.
Chelsea DesRoche aboard Mikki won Reserve Champion in Division I.
And, Becky Faust and her horse Mystery won Champion in Division IV.

CHJA Banquet 2008

February 2nd found the Narnia Farm Show Team dressed in style at the CHJA Banquet. It was at this time that our riders were presented with their year-end awards. Narnia Farm had many of their rider's receive these very special awards. Our student's and trainer's hard work throughout the year surely paid off!
